A new location for photo walkshops and a new partnership with Eling Tide Mill Experience in Totton, Southampton! This historic Grade II* listed tide mill (c. 1785) is surrounded by the beautiful river, on the north side the quay and marina and to the south the reedbeds and countryside.
This walkshop will begin with a visual exploration of this fascinating and historic tide mill. From there we head off along the circular boardwalk around Bartley Water, taking in the river and reedbeds. If time allows, we’ll also visit Goatee Beach on the far side of the river from the mill. This event is part of National Mills Weekend 2019 and is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Bring along any kind of camera you like, from a digital compact to an SLR, 35mm film or a cameraphone.
Suitable for all ages 12+ and all photography abilities. Under 16s accompanied please.
Meet at the Visitor Centre across the road from the Mill for an introduction to Eling Tide Mill Experience. There is a carpark just the other side of the toll bridge.
This walk is about pretty much 90% wheelchair friendly, with much of the route via the solid wooden boardwalk and path.
