3 New Photo Walkshops in Fareham with The Ashcroft Arts Centre

We are excited to offer three photography walkshops in partnership with Fareham’s The Ashcroft Arts Centre and Hampshire Cultural Trust.

The first walkshop will be on the 11th of June 2022 from 10am to 12:30pm exploring the beautiful creek in Fareham:

After an introduction to camera controls and focusing, this workshop will be dedicated to learning different photography techniques and tips including composition, creating a narrative, controlling focus & more out in a wild corner of Fareham. You’ll complete an inspiring walk along the creek to practice your new photography skills looking at the shoreline, woodland, nature and what we find along the way. We will end the walk out past the creek’s bend before it heads out to Portsmouth Harbour. 

The second walkshop will be on the 16th of July from 10am to 12:30pm exploring the area around Fareham Marina:

After an introduction to camera controls and focusing, this workshop will be dedicated to learning different photography techniques and tips including composition, creating a narrative, controlling focus & more while exploring around the marina are of Fareham. You’ll complete an inspiring walk by Fareham creek and around the old waterside buildings to practice your new photography skills looking at the shoreline, architecture, signs of the heritage of the town, local nature and what we find along the way. We will end the walk down the creek as it heads out to Portsmouth Harbour.

The third walkshop will be on the 10th of August from 10am to 12pm just for young people where we will be exploring the urban environment:

After an introduction to camera controls, this workshop will be dedicated to learning different photography techniques and tips including composition, creating a narrative, controlling focus & more. You’ll complete a walk of Fareham town centre together to practice your skills before heading back to Ashcroft for a sharing of photos and wrap up.

For young people aged 13-17.


For the adult workshops young people are welcome to join, if aged up to 16 they will require a parent/guardian to accompany them who doesn’t need to book on the workshop if they aren’t participating.
