Fareham - Nature

2 x 3-hour Photo Walkshops in Fareham with The Ashcroft Arts Centre

We are excited to offer two 3-hour photography walkshops in partnership with Fareham’s The Ashcroft Arts Centre and Hampshire Cultural Trust.

The first walkshop will be on the 22nd of July from 10am to 1pm exploring the beautiful creek in Fareham:

After an introduction to camera controls and focusing, this workshop will be dedicated to learning different photography techniques and tips including composition, creating a narrative, controlling focus & more out in a wild corner of Fareham. You’ll complete an inspiring walk along the creek to practice your new photography skills looking at the shoreline, woodland, nature and what we find along the way. We will end the walk out past the creek’s bend before it heads out to Portsmouth Harbour.

The second walkshop will be on the 31st of July from 10am to 1pm exploring the urban environment of Fareham city centre:

We’ll start of meeting at the Ashcroft Centre with an introduction to camera controls and focusing. This workshop will be dedicated to learning different photography techniques and tips including composition with architecture, creating a narrative, controlling focus & more out and about in an urban environment. We will also look at the principles of street photography. We’ll complete a walk around Fareham town centre together looking for interesting compositions and perspectives to practice your new skills. Finally, we’ll head back to Ashcroft for a sharing of our favourite photos and a wrap-up.

Young people are welcome to join, if aged up to 16 they will require a parent/guardian to accompany them who doesn’t need to book on the workshop if they aren’t participating.
